Official Statement from Lowell Cohen, Founder and CEO of Just Add A Kid
San Diego – July 9, 2014 - “The widely distributed and inappropriate picture of a mismatched ‘Just Add A Kid’ hanger with one of our t-shirt products was not authorized, condoned or tolerated by our company. We sincerely regretted this occurrence and immediately directed our retail partner to change the product placement. We have also taken steps to ensure that appropriate training and direction occurs in the very near future across our entire distribution channels so such a display never happens again.
Since our inception, we proudly provide our customers with a wide range of designs that have been sold globally. This is done out of great respect for the rich diversity of our international customer base. The head shots on our hangers are intended reflect the different cultures of our happy customers, and are distributed separately to our shirts. In this particular case, one of our retailers paired a particular hanger with a shirt without consideration for how it may appear to many consumers. We are taking steps to prevent this from happening again, and are extremely proud of our long-standing place in the global marketplace and will ensure that all of our retailers take into account the appropriate pairing of our hangers to shirts moving forward.”
